Desi Dobreva Brings Bulgarian Spirit to Odesa with a Festive Concert

Renowned singer Desi Dobreva, accompanied by dancers from three Bulgarian dance ensembles from the Bessarabian villages of Kamchik, Kulevcha, and Delzhiler, delivered a heartwarming concert in Odesa to honor the Day of Bessarabian Bulgarians.

The event, held at the iconic Rotunda in the City Garden, was organized by the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency and the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Odesa, with support from Odesa’s Mayor, Gennady Trukhanov. The concert carried the theme, “From Bulgarians to Odesa and Its People.”

Desi Dobreva opened the celebration by extending early wishes for the Day of Bessarabian Bulgarians and inviting the audience to join her in a spirited horo dance to the song “Koy ushi bayryaka” (“Who Sewed the Banner”). Throughout the evening, she captivated the crowd with songs from various Bulgarian ethnographic regions, blending traditional folklore with modern jazz elements to create a unique and vibrant musical experience.

The concert was a celebration of Bulgarian culture and unity, leaving a lasting impression on the Bulgarian community and residents of Odesa.
